Today the kids were home alone for the first time ever.
I wanted to go to my praying group (in town), but we only have one car and we have had so long workdays lately, someone had to come home and make fire in all ovens (or stoves, if you like this word more). So we decided that WonderfulHusband will come home with the boys and I will leave my praying group early, so that I can catch the last bus. Unfortunately, the bus stpos 10 km from our home! So we decided to give it a try - what will happen if WonderfulHusband leaves the boys alone, watching a nice movie for 20 minutes? I think in summertime it would take even less to drive to the bus stop and back, but right now the dirt road here is quite bad and it turns dark already around 4 p.m., so the driving takes longer.
The boys had been playing nicely while at home with Daddy. When we arrived, they were watching the movie and eating popcorn (used as bribe!). The house was fine, no-one had been hurt, nobody had been inspecting The Bag in the household stuff closet - you know The Bag that you start filling with Legos and other toys in May and that is bursting when Christmas is near ... But we will not take any more risks until Christmas. I wonder what would be the proper way of acting if you find your kids playing happily with all the stuff you meant for Christmas and for a birthday soon after Christmas? I hope we will never need to know ...
