Finally, we have snow. The boys were playing outside for two hours today and I did the fist snowshoveling this winter. If it is the last, I won't mind. During the last two winters we had enough snow for a lifetime. The weather is still quite mild, the temperatures mostly stay around the freezing point.
In January Clean The House Challenge ... Um. Day 5 was CDs that is strictly WonderfulHusband's job in this house complete with the Really Big Mess on the computer desk. I am so not touching that. Then Day 6 was about pens and pencils that are mostly in order in our house -or hidden in the Big Mess on the computer desk which I am not touching. Day 7 and 8 seemed to slip away somehow. Day 9 was selling things in ebay that we don't use (neither can I use the Estonian version because ... I never cared about learning how it works) and honestly, I am so dead set against buying new things that there is not much old stuff to sell. Day 10 - giving away things on Freecycle - is the same. I guess that some people are using Freecycle or something like this here, but I am not one of them. I just gave away a bag with His Babyness's clothes, does that count? It is so cool to see the clothes worn by other people's kids! Last Sunday in church J, who is 6 months younger than His Babyness, wore the pants that I have washed and put away many times, and A, who is about 9 months younger than H. B., wore the boots and the shirt that His Babyness wore last winter! I really love if I can be useful to other mothers!
I also couldn't do much with Days 11 and 12, but I did sort all my spices and teas. I threw away some that were obviously too old and packed in a better way all the ones that were still good. Now they actually fit on the shelf and I am not bombarded with falling spice packages anymore! Also, a couple of days ago I checked all the berries and vegetables in freezer and found out that I have more space than I thought. Freezer cooking, here I come! Started today with lots of lemon curd. We love it on white bread and in cakes, and WonderfulHusband bought a lot of lemons last time when we were groceries shopping, so I made it with 15 eggs.
We are still thinking a lot about the upcoming knight party. I still haven't thought about any "knight food". Should be something simple because little kids don't like exotic food anyway, right?

This is how the other finished corner of out kitchen looks now. See how tea and spices fit on the shelf? Above the blue-and-white tiles there will be cupboards. Some day. If WonderfulHusband feels like making them. Right now he feels that his wife should use her New and Improved kitchen to make some tea. :)

Blessings,
EstonianWife.
